Assembling Expanded Masculinities

The Oxford English Dictionary describes masculinity as ‘the assemblage of qualities regarded as characteristic of men.’
Assembling Expanded Masculinities explores notions of masculinity in fashion to expand on our current conceptions of menswear. Crossing over between the worlds of art and fashion, this creative work draws on marginal perspectives and practices in contemporary menswear design – including from queer and multicultural perspectives.
The collection/triptych of wearable t-shirts presents fashion design practice through an intersectional lens, designed to expand and include marginal cultures and identities.
